Day 1 : Board in the train at New Delhi |
Welcome aboard the Maharajas’ Express. Evening, assemble at Safdarjung station at approximately 2030 hours. Complete your registration and check in formalities for the Maharajas' Express, as you enjoy a welcome drink.The Maharajas' Express Leaves Delhi at approximately 2200 hours to Agra. Dinner on board. Overnight on the Maharajas' Express.

Day 2 : Agra |
Arrive into the city of The Taj Mahal . (The monument of Love. Besides being famous for one of
the Seven Wonders of the World, Agra is also known for its fabulous handicrafts, made of marble and softstone inlay work. The Mughals were great patrons of arts and crafts. Empress Nur Jahan took personal interest and was an accomplished artist herself in zari embroidery work). Early morning, disembark and proceed to the world famous Taj Mahal. (A UNESCO World Heritage Site. It took the efforts of approx 20,000 craftsmen for 22 years and the passion of Shah Jahan to create this white marble masterpiece. This marble poetry was created by Shah Jahan in fond memories of her beloved queen Mumtaj Mahal). The visit is followed by Champagne breakfast atop Taj Khema gazing at the Taj Mahal. After breakfast, return to the train OR you may choose to take an optional tour to Fatehpur Sikri OR visit to Itmad-ud-Daulah. Return to the train for lunch. After a leisurely lunch onboard, proceed to visit the magnificent Agra fort. ( An era marked by invasions and fortifications, where power was symbolized by grand palaces and grander forts, during such time was built THE AGRA FORT. The mighty towers and overwhelming facades instilling fear and awe in the bravest of the brave. This Agra Fort is a symbol of power, strength and resilience. The Agra Fort, also known as the “Lal –Qila”, “Fort Rouge” or “Qila-i-Akbari”, is the highlight of the city of Agra, which was then the capital of the Mughal Sultanate). You can also take the optional such as Spa facilities at a 5 star hotel OR Private shopping tour for pietra dura marble and fine Mughal Jewellery. Return to the comfort of the train and continue your journey to Ranthambore National Park. Overnight on the Maharajas’ Express. |
Day 3 : Ranthambore – Jaipur |
On arrival in Sawai Madhopur, get ready for an early morning safari to the Ranthambore National Park. (Ranthambore – the private hunting ground of the Mahrajas, was declared a National Park in 1973. Chances to see the wildlife that includes tigers, sambar, chital, nilgai, chinkara, wild boar, sloth bear, hyena, jackal and leopard. The safari cannot be compared to that of Africa but you would indeed be fortunate if you spot the elusive tiger or the shy leopard). After breakfast at Vivanta by Taj, Sawai Madhopur, return to the train and continue your journey to the Pink City , Jaipur.(Jaipur was built by Raja Jai Singh in the 18th century, and is renowned for its magnificent palaces, forts and temples). Arrive into Jaipur and after lunch disembark to visit the Amber Fort.(The Amber Fort set in picturesque and rugged hills is a fascinating blend of Hindu and Mughal architecture. Constructed by Raja Man Singh I in 1592 and completed by Mirja Raja Jai Singh, the fort was made in red sandstone and white marble. The rugged forbidding exterior belies an inner paradise with a beautiful fusion of art and architecture. Amber is the classic and romantic fort-palace with a magnificent aura. On completing the tour of Amber you will have the opportunity to shop for some of the finest jewellery, textiles and blue pottery for which the city is renowned). Following lunch, you may choose to participate in one of the optional tours such as enjoy spa facilities at a Palace hotel OR proceed on a private shopping tour ORenjoy Golfing at the Rambagh Golf Club OR visit to City Palace and Jantar Mantar (The Observatory). Complete the exciting day with an enthralling Exhibition Elephant Polo Match. Experience a Royal welcome at the A Jai Mahal Palace hotel. ( You may choose to watch or participate in the exhibition game. Arrival at the venue to be accompanied by the royal military band and the beating of ‘Nagadas’. Guests may choose to watch elephant polo or participate in the exhibition game). The match is followed by Champagne and dinner at A Jai Mahal Palace hotel. After dinner, return to board the train for your onward journey towards Delhi. Overnight on the Maharajas’ Express.
